Elsy is Now Officially a Stay-at-Home Mom

In the previous post I noted that Elsy had started looking for a job since Dan Jr had turned 2 months old. Elsy hit the pavement running and had dozens of copies of her resume distributed all over Austin. She was going to several interviews every week with companies that were all very interested in her. Unfortunately though she was not getting job offers from these companies. They were telling her that she was overqualified.

After several weeks of this going on we knew that something must not be right. Everything had gone so smooth up to this point - me getting a job here, the move to Texas, the house - everything just fell into place - except this.

So we sat down, looked at our budget, made a couple of adjustments, and figured that God wanted her to stay home with the kids. This immediately took all the pressure off. Since then Elsy is managing the house and her, the kids, and I are a whole lot happier.

Financially we would have been fine on my salary, we just would not have the money that we were used to for the little “extras” - and that was fine. I was planning on doing a little web design on the side that would have helped in that area until I found something better that involved some other web sites that I had that are like this one (The style of this web site is called a “blog”, which stands for a web log).

What I found was a company that people with web sites like this (blogs) to write reviews of web sites, products, and services on your own site and get paid for it. Review opportunities often go from $2.50 to $15 per post on your site. You can do 3 posts a day on your site and then you get paid 30 days later for the post.

I had done a post or two to check it out and it was legit. I told Elsy about it and she was instantly interested so I setup a blog for her to post on. To date she has done $165 in posts and has only been doing it for a week. I have done $220 in posts (I do not Post as often as her). God totally provided a way for us to supplement our income through this opportunity. Now we can still have the little “extras” without having to touch our budget.

So now Elsy is a stay-at-home mom that spend maybe an hour a day on the computer and will make ay least $500 a month outside of our normal budget. This is really great for all of us. God know that this opportunity was there - we just had to step out in faith and do the thing that he wanted us to.

P.S. This is why I was so late on the monthly wrap-up for July. I have been spending a lot of time setting this stuff up for Elsy and teaching her how to use it.
